Nostr DMs are currently not at all secure. But there is a proposal to bring Signal-like encryption to them (it will still be up to Nostr clients to implement that)

Yeah, Nostr DM's are secure, just everyone can see who you are talking to but not WHAT is being said.

It will be fixed by NIP-17 which is already in draft stage in Amethyst.
