A growing trend is emerging in France, where French Muslims are leaving their homeland in search of a better environment that respects their faith and values. A recent survey revealed that over 1,000 French Muslims have left France in the past few years, citing moral panics around secularism and job discrimination as major factors. This exodus has been dubbed a "brain-drain" by experts, as highly educated individuals are among those leaving.

Many of these emigrants are settling in West Africa, where they can reconnect with their cultural heritage. However, not all French Africans share the same enthusiasm for reconnection. Some see it as an opportunity to start anew and build a life that honors their African roots, while others prefer to maintain their connection to France.
