Matthew 6:24

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

This is a sound principle. It applies to other priorities you may have.

Anything that would divide your loyalty is to be avoided. Every other service must be primarily a service to Christ.

So yes, you can work a job, but your primarily service is to God. If not, if it is dividing your loyalty, it's time to get a new job.
