We are a strange group... we freely give sats back and forth via zaphathons and other events, or just for the fun of making someone smile. But if we run a lightning node, we fret and frown if we spend 100 sats to rebalance a channel. Have we completely disassociated zap sats from my sats? I think that's my mentality . If I have zaps in wallets connected to NOSTR, they were given to me or I funded the wallet with the intention of giving them away, so I give them freely across the Nostrverse. But those sats on my Node... I paid for them suckers with sweat and tears in the fiat mine and I want to keep every single one of them. Am I the only one that operates this way?

There’s no real difference is there? You can send sats to your node via lightning, you can even do this in a way to balance out your channels if you have sats stuck on your channel partner’s side.

I’m just saying worry about rebalance fees and try to figure when’s the best time to try and rebalance for the cheapest amount possible, but don’t hesitate to zap 15 people with 75 sats each.

Or take it one step further, watch the meme pool low fees and then will still try to cut the fee to the lowest amount that will get into the block for a channel to open.

I just feel different about my node sats vs. sats I had on my NOSTR connected wallets.

I haven’t rebalanced once! I set up auto pilot fees with lightning terminal.
