If my one node could decide if a block gets rejected, I’d do that.

Filters delay spam transactions meaning that miners who mine spam transactions into blocks may get their block orphaned thus loosing the current 3.125 Bitcoin block reward.
Filters also keep your node's mempool free of spam transactions.
I also solomine with my Bitcoin Knots so if my BitAxe finds a block, it won't include any spam transactions.
