Thanks! Biggest thing is balancing eager and lazy loading. The sweet spot is 1. Load some events, 2. Try to load parents to get as much context as possible, but set a short timeout, 3. Stream replies and reactions in lazily, but don't merge them into the feed. That gives you some threads, with zero reflow.
