Interestingly:
Both the Bitcoin community and governments have the same goal:
End banks 😂

One wants CBDCs
I don't like collectivism in bitcoin space
You have a point, we are a decentralised community 😅
Collectivism does not necessarily mean centralism
True
What’s the difference between consensus and collectivism?
Collectivism is always a restriction of individual autonomy, while consensus only becomes problematic when it leads to enforced conformity.
I would disagree with the word “always” and instead replace it with “can be”.
That said, you are only describing possible outcomes.
But is there a difference between the two?
When two individuals have a common goal that undermines autonomy, it's collectivism. When two individuals agree on something, each pursuing their own personal goal, it's consensus.
I disagree with this.
Collectivism is where individuals who have consensus, view themselves as members of a larger family or social group rather than isolated, independent beings.
The above statement was written after referencing dictionary definitions for both terms.
The outcome for such groups can be either negative or positive.
Anyone who confuses consensus with collectivism fails to recognize the difference between a free decision and ideological subordination.
To be fair, it's _almost_ tautological to say that someone who self-identifies as part of the "Bitcoin community" would be opposed to banks. But that's _almost_, not completely.
