Thanks everybody for their help. I appreciate all the responses. I decided to go with my first Mac. Wife has one and we both have IPhones so I decided to go all in.

Have they changed how it requires you to have an internet connection or an apple account or whatever before you can boot it up for the first time

I already had an Apple account because of my phone, but I think it is required. I was able to boot it up in the car straight out of the box without Internet.
