well, it's about Japanese escorting, so it's pretty much based around a real thing

So it's pretty based in reality? That could be a huge reason why it hits, I mean I think manga and anime in general was an appeasement to men at first and still very much is, so ones like this would make sense why it's extremely popular from the get go
