I’d still use the term “government” for this voluntary model, cause that’s what it is. Voluntary governance between cooperative (and respecting those uncooperative) individuals.

This “one weird fact” is why I shy away from blanket blaming “the government” for our collective inability to respect human liberty.

It’s up to us to start building the world we want, from the bottom up.

Good points. I heard on a podcast the other day that when and if things do fall apart, we're not just going to sit down and deliberate and come up with the next great system of government. What will get adopted is something that is already in place and working somewhere, on a smaller scale. So we need to already be on it...
