Theft doesn't benefit anyone. Not even the thief, given a long enough time frame.

Keeping an angry mob equipped with torches and pitchforks at bay can be a very costly thing. So why aren't more people upset about inflation? Why can't they realize what's going on?

Those who don't own assets are paying for the whole ordeal, but very few seem to understand what's going on. The answer lies within the problem itself. Most people don't have the time to think about these things because they live in constant fear.

Fear of losing their jobs, fear of not making ends meet, fear of tomorrow. Remember, fear and high-time preference are on the same side of the behavioral spectrum.
