Convenience is the number 1 driver for most users. Convenience is about reducing complexity AND maximizing optionality. Convenience has little to do with security or sovereignty and thatโ€™s how the big platforms are winning - convenience and optionality between a limited set of platforms (e.g., Apple vs. Google).

The trick is to understand the tradeoffs between complexity/optionality versus security/sovereignty. The regular user usually is concerned only with the former, not the latter.

Itโ€™s for us on #nostr to design for the latter, while enabling the former.

All-In-One hosting solutions with users holding the keys + being able to back everything up independently ๐Ÿ‘‰ Best trade-off and business model I can think off

Alby Hub is the best thing Iโ€™ve seen so far. It is one of the inspirations for what I am building for #nostr #safebox

Best benchmark indeed!

I'm gonna need Relay + Media server + Community mint tho ๐Ÿ˜œ

Your arguments are not incorrect but trust is also an important factor. All corporations and platforms invest in building a relationship of trust with their users. The same way people trust banks with their money.

Agree wholeheartedly, but trust is taken from the users; they have little choice but to give their trust unconditionally.
