I think it's important to realise that "there is no global". The signal from a stranger on the internet that you don't know (either directly or indirectly) must be zero, because if it's non-zero, than billions of these can fake every ranking.

Yeah I could see how given it is relatively easy to fake in a completely open dataset that this would trend to useless.
I really like the “how many hops” filter. Your model is much harder to game. I wonder if that could be combined with my proposed filter so I could find out what my rich friends think vs everyone else lol- but maybe just discrete # of zaps is enough in your framework.
Your model also incentivizes authentic networking if you’re seeking a broader more useful dataset. Which is dope- though I worry if people will actually do that en masse. Maybe the current incentive system is what’s got me jaded on that front, so I’ll remain hopeful for your model and participate accordingly.
