yah. people used to mostly have their own chickens so eggs were extra abundant while same time the currency was still tied to the money.

The solution is to find the highest quality and most economical local producer and go on about your day producing the most value in your community that you can, which is hopefully more than creating a few dozen eggs a day for yourself.
