for the first couple years of realizing the magic of what bitcoin can do, I wanted to tell everyone I cared about that it’s going to $1 million sooner than anyone realizes because there’s such a little supply of it and an infinite supply of US dollars to price it against, I wanted to tell them all to “make your life easy and put any and all money you earn into it.” to “take the shortcut”

but the reality is, there are no shortcuts

taking responsibility is so incredibly important. learning, studying, making a decision based on fully grasping the problem and then really diving into understanding the solution. shortcuts are how people end up lost in the shitcoin forest. and maybe that’s a necessary rite of passage. either way, without taking on self-responsibility, someone else is making the decision instead. and there are few decisions as important as what to do with the accumulation of years / decades / a lifetime of work, whether earned or inherited. how can we let someone else decide for us? we can’t, and there are no shortcuts
