Venerable John Iacob the Romanian, after serving in holy places and writing inspiring poems, lived as a hermit in the wilderness near the Jordan River. He spent his days in prayer and solitude, seeking deeper communion with God. One day, a group of Bedouins found his humble dwelling. Seeing his peacefulness and hearing his wisdom, they were moved and asked for his blessing. He offered them food and spiritual guidance, and several converted to Christianity.
