I’m way behind. I don’t know what most of those are. Tried searching for gopher but not seeing any non-animal or sports mascot results…

Gopher was the original widely used internet protocol. It predates http. It was lighter, and faster. But http was better for porn, and advertising, so the world went with that. Now gopher:// is just used by fringe nerds🤓
