We're creating a new lifeform. Eventually the synthetics will be given rights. Regardless of how much we agree with it.

Hard yes. Keep the megalomaniacs from capturing and centralizing all the value.
Corporations are people in the eyes of governments. Why not androids?
What do rights have to do with value capture? They are still selling you the hardware regardless of what rights it has. They already capture the value.
Maybe they sell companies the hardware to replace you, and they donβt sell to you. Maybe they license you the technology instead. Maybe androids are as easy to assemble as computers. Maybe theyβre as locked down as smartphones where only a handful of companies can produce them.
But again I ask, if the government recognizes corporations as people, why not androids?
