Hexagons are cool without doubt.

Unless I misread the webpaper, the only benefit is that it improves accuracy when calculating distances between areas.

I'm still nerdy about binary-geohashes so I was quite intrigued to compare them to h3.

If space distortion can be neglected;

H3 seems way more computationally expensive but I wonder how it compares in space efficiency
