Pro Tip:

1. Install #Tails OS onto a flashdrive.

2. Load the persistent storage with your bookmarks, passwords, backup wallets, and important documents.

3. Put it on the ring with your keys.

4. Make a copy on another flashdrive using Tails Cloner and put it someplace safe or in your Go Bag.

5. Sleep soundly.

That would require me to know my passwords… 💀

Yes, or a copy of your Keepass database

I’m gonna do this tho. Fun little project.

if you want to hate life, use tailsOS

have you tried qubes os?

My daily driver is qubes 😁

can you play steam games ?

Not on QubesOS till now. But as soon as GPU passthrough is here it is possible 😀

So you put some wallets seedphrase in it ?

Yes. In a electrum encrypted file stored inside an encrypted drive.

Maybe don't do this with your main cold wallet which should always be air gapped but I think it's a good idea to maybe have a emergency wallet with a stack of non-kyc just in case.

TL:DR not your savings, just your emergency fund

Where do you keep the password to decrypt the drive ?

In your brain.

Make up a phrase that doesn't mean anything and at the same time you won't forget.

The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.

Customize it and you have a very secure passphrase

Nice passphrase idea.

What if there's an accident, brain damage, you get amnesia, or Alzheimer's when you get old?

Great idea. I just have my keypass data on a couple flashdrives.

Do you have any flash drive recommendations?

Also, what is persistent storage?

I have to get around to setting this up! I was planning to switch my PC to Linux and do Tails OS afterwords. Is there any privacy/security concerns using tailsos on a windows machine?

Nope. That's why we tails. It's booted from a flashdrive and only runs in RAM. Completely forgotten after a power cycle

Thanks for the reply. I guess I know what's next on my tech to do list!

Damn! That's a great idea!

Got a guide for step#2? I have vaultwarden for passwords, but there is some docs and such ID like to have on the tails drive I already have

Also, is there some way I can get my Protonvpn already installed when I boot up?

Don't use a VPN on tails
