Build a Compartmentalized Digital Life in 5 Steps

Stop putting all your digital eggs in one leaky, surveilled basket. Start building a compartmentalized Digital Life.

Most people use one email, one browser, one device, and one identity for everything. That’s a data goldmine for advertisers, trackers, and anyone curious enough to look.

Compartmentalization fixes that. It’s the art of breaking your digital life into isolated sections, so leaks in one area don’t flood everything else.

Here’s how to do it in five steps.

Today I made a new email to make new social media accounts, it will only be used for that.

I've been banned from Facebook so many times I have a bunch of spare old Hotmail and Yahoo emails I had made just for previous Facebook accounts that redirect.

But holy shit google has me.

I need to make a new google account just so I can make a new YouTube.

Google has all my passwords, they have my banking, they have everything.

But I can make a new one just to use for YouTube, just a hassle.

How do I escape Google?

Anyway , i will read the article now.

I actually have a draft on Escaping from Google. I need to finish it.

Maybe have a blurb about leveraging Google for people to be drawn to other platforms. That's what I'm doing.

I'll put some of this into practice, I already use seperate browsers for different things. Chrome mainly for watching YouTube and googling stuff, Wikipedia or finding answers on forums. Another for everything else.

I use the same name and picture everywhere though, and that isn't going to change. Getting banned from everywhere all the time I friends and family to be able to find me on other platforms when that happens. But I'll start putting more of the other stuff into practice.

Thankyou for sharing this, it's value information, I'm no one important not an activist not someone with enough money to be a target etc. but even still, just the way advertisers and shit spy on us pisses me off.

But to a lot of other people under repressive regimes this kind of information could literally be life or death, for people with money it might be the difference between your house getting targeted by burglars or your bank account getting targeted by some organised criminals with your info.

I only go by one name on the internet, and use this PFP as my primary (people don't really know what I look like unless they watch my YouTube channels). That part I can't really do anything about.

Everything else I do to a certain extent. I'm still learning how to do this, though (and eventually attempting to implement it in my life).
