When did western news outlets go from reporting on facts to pushing straight up copy-pasta propaganda?

Thank god for Ground News giving the signal. This happens daily, with hundreds of news outlets “reporting” the same exact story, copy and pasted, with the same headline, on both sides of the aisle.
