it does look minimal, but it's fast.. ..plus it's one of the only one's with no tracking or advertising and it works without JavaScript.. ..and it's not proprietary/closed-source like GitHub

If I ever get to buying that thin client and setting up that proxmox machine I want to try Gitea.

All that's been on my list for a while though 😅

if i had better internet service i would self-host my repos.. ..that would be awesome.. ..cgit looks legit too..
