Do we think #plebjam plebstock plebfest etc is achievable??

Maybe sometime end of august, early September, when it’s still warm enough to dance outside all night, but not so hot that people melt?

Obviously I’d vote for a location in the northeastern US. But that’s just me 🛫🛬 nostr:note1zx5ll82t4tswxq6e4hk46dcrxvzq2322u8cpg2xa0tgzavf2pc2qam6cxv

I think if we got some event coordinators who were serious about planning it, it could definitely happen.

I know someone who put on a grassroots music fest in Vermont, a couple years in a row. Major success and the second year was like 5x bigger.

It was maybe a decade ago now (sheeeeet now I feel old 😂) but I could at least ask him for tips 🤔

I actually throw events locally and I've helped on some of the logistics sides of festivals, but I've never done a whole large event myself.

Well if we do make this come together, your experience will be needed!

Where do people start, past the “I’d love to do this” phase?

Venue is the biggest hurdle. Everything else comes after you have a place to actually throw the show.

I'm sure other people might have different opinions, but the way that I see it is venue really determines a lot. If you lock in a solid venue, that also lets you know what you can do. Does it have room for multiple stages? Is it a one-stage thing? Is it an outdoor venue? Is there camping? Is it indoor? Can you serve alcohol? Things like that can all be locked into place once you have a solid spot to actually throw the show.

Also, beyond paying artists, your venue is probably going to be your biggest cost.

Makes a ton of sense. The festival from when I was younger was hosted once on a neighbor’s farm land, and then the second year at a local fairground. Much more logistically complex the second time around lol

I’d be happy to ask around to see if that VT festival’s farmland location is still a viable location, if so…

Im in the PNW. Oregon specifically, so that's kind of where my connections are.

I’ve always wanted to go to Oregon. Some exquisite wine being made out there these days 😁🍷

True facts.

I’m in MN but know venue operators and promoters all over through NIVA.

Have fam in Oregon also. Was just out there on the coast 2 weeks ago 🤘

What’s the name of the VT festival?

That’d be awesome

LFG!!!

😎 after Burningman baby! Maybe Sept 21 ?
