Separate but related question, how can we avoid DNS as single point of failure (in this case but also in others)?

dns is only used to prove an npub is someone, if we have local records of that then that would help and there is other ways, nostr preserves its distributed nature by using the npub and not the nip5 in notes etc

otherwise i would like something not dns based too
