St. Emilian lived during the reign of Julian the Apostate. When ordered to renounce Christ, he refused. Emilian went to the pagan temple, found the idols, and smashed them to pieces. Arrested and tortured, Emilian was sentenced to be burned. Thrown into the flames, he was unharmed until he gave up his soul to God.
