I saw multiple posts of photos and videos of Brent’s body on Twitter after he was killed and it was right before I was gonna go to sleep. I did not sleep anytime soon after that. Part of me wishes I didn’t have those images in my memory bank. I had always seen him in the context of an event or party but his mission and life’s work was to show the ugliness of war and the innocent people caught in it. War is very ugly.
