I haven't studied religion much and can't comment, but I heard a priest argue that the church's incentives are misaligned to the teachings of Jesus, and have failed to help people dealing with issues in this world.
In contrast, he then noted decentralized community and fellowship (things like AA, Al Anon) is getting it done, and advancing the work of Jesus where the centralized church fails. Power to the people.
Stepping outside the echo chamber of #bitcoin specifically, is it me, or does it feel like centralized vs decentralized control and self sovereignty are the defining issues of our time?
