The only way we can build an effective progressive movement and get folks jazzed up again is Obama level enthusiasm. I think abundance brings that.

Only talking about protecting minimum wage and benefits, that should be the default. What’s beyond that? That’s dull.

Like the democrats for too long (especially far left) have talked about minim wage and benefits. Thats it! Not at all about things beyond that like a brighter, more optimistic future. Building wealth, living out your dreams, hell having time and money for a vacation, etc.

If your only promise is benefits and minimum wage—guess what, you’re still poor and probably working a job you don’t want. At its worst, you’re just pushing for Soviet Russia. Fuck that

Most of my dem family switched to republican last election. Dem party is toast. It’ll take a significant stance change and not merely vision to win another election. I don’t see it happening next term.

Those folks would “come back” if democrats can talk about building a future and even go so far as to say it’s ok to build wealth and be prosperous (which also created a fairer world and helping the most vulnerable)

Nah. The current administration is doing what the people wanted to have done for a loooong time. It became pretty clear the dem party is full of crooks who were never going to do the right thing - either due to corruption or incompetence or both. It went too far left and most people I find to be somewhere in the middle.

Not on the left, but I agree that "abundance agenda" seems to be the only proactive vision of the future coming from the Democratic party.

The rest is either reflexively defensive ("NOT that", ok but then what?), or the tattered remains of the self-defeating Identitarianism of the past ~5-7 years.
