It's a trap! Literally the matrix.

Oh boy

Jack can any mod delete my posts on nostr yes or no?

nope. but individual relays can, that's why you post to several relays simultaneously, and also you can backup your content on your own relay and push it out.

Ah ok thanks thought so.

That's how the censorship resistance works. Makes fighting it futile, as there's no central point of failure where the content can be removed. Similar to how sharing bits of a file on bittorrent network spread over multiple clients makes it next to impossible to shut down people from downloading the file.

The tone, the technique, the time to explain.. followed. πŸ‘€

Let me know if you have any questions. :)

Jack is just a fellow pleb like you and I here. He just happens to be an amazing pleb πŸ«‚ He can't mod or do anything to anyone's content. Welcome to Nostr!

Thank you so much ! I will probably be moving here full time after how elon ruined twitter today. Just wanted to verfy this before I spent to much time here

You own your ID, your key is literally your account that contains your identity and social graph, which you can move over any nostr client if one behaves badly.

There's a reason why ID:s, relays and clients are separate.

Great thank that really does help make it more understandable to noobs like myself I appreciate the help!

Maybe it could help to make a beautiful and informative infographic to show how the nostr architecture is built. Designers assemble:

Great idea πŸ€”

This is GREAT, I'm a newbee here and, this was just so simple to understand!

The best idea I've heard yet if you want this is to self-host your images. The example I heard was on a WordPress site the user owned. Then you can at least break it by deleting from your hosting.

Correct, I was saying that if you self host your media then even though you can’t delete the post from Nostr, you can still delete the media from your own hosting, which successfully removes it

Works until someone boosts your note (sends it to all the relays they are connected to).

Unless that media is hosted somewhere else as well there is nothing to relay but whatever text was in the note

Yeah, its just a link.

So the answer is yes and no but probably no depending on what message was sent to what rely and if it was retweeted or not but probably no. LOL

You can unhost media or break a link.

But you can’t delete a note.

Ok lol all good. I kind of understand it, basically i was worried about censorship (due to twitter/ facebook google ect) but it appears that its virtually impossible to censor on nostr which is what I was curious about.

Yeah you can’t even censor your own content.

πŸ˜‚

Im good with that!

ACCOUNTABILITY FTW πŸ™Œ

You can’t rewrite history here.

Thank goodness.

πŸ’―

Can't even edit it 🀑

You should've seen when the CCP attacked Global with porn and links to WeChat to try and dox chinese nostr users.

Log in on iris.to and you can

fences don't work.

Never trust the matrix. even half matrix like fake conservatives like elon musk, jordan peterson or Pierre Poilivere.

It’s just me that thinks the invite based system will pretty much guarantee a toxic circlejerk user base?

Not just you

Yep, not the idea of decentralised to me.

So far it's been precisely the opposite but that could(and likely will) change with growth.

Question: is there a difference between notes and posts? And I heard you can use zapp to pay Bitcoin to people, right?
