an autistic kid died under weird circumstances at a daycare; there has been an extended protest in the aftermath.

the daycare was called poppy's playhouse.

there will likely be no satisfaction for any party involved, especially "the public".

i cant help but think that facebook is responsible for the outrage cycles and tragedy pageants that rip through small towns.

there should be public reaction—dont get me wrong, but ideally it is narrowly focused with decent factual evidence and dripped out over time.

that doesnt generate clicks though. fast, hot, & angry spikes the dopamine & tickles the followers.

The permanence of comments on social media create constant reminders. People used to have time to cool off. For those singled out in social media there is no respite. Next time we catch up I need to tell you about a similar instance that resulted in unchecked escalation. I don’t think we were ever fully prepared for the incredible reach social media brings.
