The protocol is open and can handle different use cases or levels of visibility. Sometimes devs use notes for machine-machine or human-machine communication, for instance, and that could also be encrypted.

There will always be more-or-less private spaces. Nostr is simple decentralizing those spaces.

Nostr is for enemies.

Yes. I agree with that.

I'm just concerned that you and others are going to try to engineer the possibility of ick out of the protocol and thereby make it much less than it should and could be.

I don't even really want stop you from trying, but, I'm mostly just concerned about liberty more than most, even if there are unpleasant effects of that. I'm secure enough in my own ability to wade through some muck to find what I consider valuable. I recognize that I have not and likely never will have as much visibility and scrutiny here as you do. Not as much vitriol will be flung at me since I'm not as able, intelligent, articulate, and attractive as you are. That still doesn't make my concerns any less valid, since I think that it is a blind spot that you have, partly from your experience, partly from your character, and partly because of your faith.

Basically, women have had to deal with this BS since the dawn of time. That's never going to change until this world is made new again. Until then... 🤷‍♂️

There's no way to engineer the ick completely out of any protocol because you would have to know who is planning on producing "ick".

Yes, but...

I'd rather just see the variety of tools increase for users to tailor their feeds (which I suppose is what you are all trying to do) rather than saying "this group should be more like this."

I literally have zero fucks to give what someone on Nostr does where I can avoid seeing it.

That is between them, their followers, and God.

You cannot claim to be the New Internet and then say, but it's going to be absolutely atrocious and women should probably just not use it.
