ok - this is weird.

the other day i was talking to my wife about whether or not to let our kid take meds for adhd.

the next day this huberman episode about adhd popped up on spotify - it’s great actually.

i figured you posted this because u heard it - i.e.- i thought it was the most recent episode, but i went back and looked and it’s from 2021.

spotify recommended a 3 year old ep of a podcast i listen to the day after a convo about the topic.

fucking creepy.

One of the best things my parents ever did for me was refuse to put me on speed. My adhd made me a bad student but I gave me a great life. Still sucks around tax time though lol 😂 trade offs…

How did it give you a great life? (serious question)

The “H” is the main superpower.

If I find something interesting or exciting it’s very easy for me to lock in on it for long stretches of time. I’m also able to do a lot of work under tight time constraints. I seem to rise to the occasion in pressure situations where others may falter. I’m very creative and intuitive. Charisma and energy. Good in conversation etc…

There’s a long list actually.

But none of these things kick in if my attention isn’t captured. So I can’t turn it on. It just comes on by itself and only for things I’m called towards.

I wouldn’t exactly call you charismatic! J/k

baader meinhof phenomenon is most likely whats going on but yeah

Your phone is always creepin

As a father to 3 successful, well adjusted men and a teenage boy I can tell you that (including myself when i was young), we were all told we ad adhd at some point.

Its a bullshit, made up condition to get your kid on some life long prescription. I do think that these MDs believe what they’re saying, but the schools they went to are all subsidized by big pharma. A sick kid is worth millions over their lifetime if they’re on daily meds.
