The crypto centrism is likely putting a lot of people off Nostr. And it's dominated by just bitcoin which makes it doubly lame.

Perhaps it should be more like a chatroom with messages disappearing (easing storage requirements for relays too).

Yet I get more engagement here than bluesky and fedi.

Bluesky is a minefield of blocklists I hear, not sure you even know if you're picked up on them. Mentioning any crypto (positibely or negatively I think) will get you banished into the void. Ditto shitposting.
