In short, you can’t have a cake and eat it. If you use energy to charge your vehicle, it is used to charge your vehicle (minus conversion and inefficiency losses). If you use energy to mine a bitcoin, it is used and gone (mainly lost to a heat of processor inefficiencies). 1+1=2 and nothing extra to use to mine. 🐶🐾🫡
Thank you!
So those gimmicky bitcoin mining “space heaters” literally are just shitty bitcoin miners with fans to expel the heat they produce?
Pretty much. They still mine, and use expelled heat to warm-up the room.
Processors use transistors. Transistors use electrical charge to turn on/off the gate. When it is used, it is charged/discharged. There is always some resistance that will be there, and that will always translate into heat. Usually the hotter the conductor gets, the more resistance it has. So taking that heat away and into the air, heats up your room. I can’t tell how good or bad these miners are, but probably not the best! 🐶🐾🫡
