one step to protect personal data while untangling the fiat world is to delete old/unused accounts/subscriptions/services/etc. IMPORTANT: request ALL personal data be deleted from their system/database to "protect your privacy."

this morning i deleted an old affirm ($afrm) account. do they intentionally mislead and frustrate users hoping they stop or give up 🤔 because my experience really sucked and was time consuming. easy on-ramps with challenging off-ramps business model doesn't work #zapvertising

the quickest route deleting your affirm account: call 855-423-3729 7:00-22:00 cst. have your name, phone, email, dob, address, etc that was used when signing up. they take one extra step before deleting all records by calling you back to confirm full deletion.

#confession: i really injoy navigating these messy customer service experiences if it helps others avoid them in the future.

Sounds like a neat website opportunity: a directory of services and how to most efficiently delete all your data with them
