Because they want us, the peasant class, weak and subservient.

Seems that way

Taxes are the penalty we pay for accepting tryanny

Taxes are the penalty we pay for accepting tyranny

Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) literature argues that taxation is necessary to give money value, essentially under the implicit threat of enforcement.

For example, Stephanie Kelton, in The Deficit Myth, explains this concept with an analogy: if a population is required to pay taxes in a specific currency under the threat of severe consequences—like having their house burned down for noncompliance—then that currency gains value because it becomes essential for avoiding punishment.

MMT also presents taxation as a tool for managing inflation. By removing money from the economy, taxes help control excess demand and reduce the risk of an overheated economy. When inflation rises, taxation can reduce the amount of money in circulation, thereby cooling economic activity.

While I’m not a proponent of MMT and see it as akin to communism with additional steps, I do encourage those curious about how our current monetary system operates to explore MMT. It’s a fascinating.

So they print them less

Doesn’t seem to be slowing them down

Imagine what would have been otherwise
