PNBL

The PNBL (Portable Nostr Block List) is an XML file that you can import into your Nostr client tht will prevent the display of anything from a pubkey in the file.

This file and standard will allow all Nostr clients to impliment a block list that is portable, extensible and easy to use. There is no reason why anyone has to toleratee spam on Nostr, such as is found from this account:

npub1curnt7jtq8mhl9fcswnwvuvc9ccm6lvsdv4kzydx75v92kldrvdqh7sq09

when you could just import that pubkey to your spam JSON and then never see tawdry nonsense like it again.

Abuse is something you put up with, not something that is a requirment. The PNBL standard should become the default for all Nostr clients.

Please impliment it!

Sounds like an export & import mute list from client to client. I like it. Is there a NIP for this today

I’ve been thinking about how we can reduce friction onboarding users from platforms to nostr. How does importing your twitter block & mute list to your nostr client sound #[2] ?

NIP-51 describes a mute list message which can contain either a public or private list (or both) of “blocked” npubs.

Currently clients implement this by broadcasting the list to relays. When you switch clients, your client loads the last found mute list you posted by requesting it from relays.

It would be possible for clients to provide options to save/load your NIP-51 mute list rather than broadcasting to relays.

Thank you for informing me of this, and providing something useful. It appears that there is a common understanding that there are legionms of fool, nuisance, idiot, lamer, boring, time wasting, screen cluttering Nostr users who need to be supressed, excised, tamped down, exculded, demoted, K-LINED, "-V", banned, shunned and demerited, case in point the insufferable "Crawford":

a very silly INGSOC who can't stand the fact that other people are different to him.

Once Nostr clients roll out the blockz it will be even better, and people will be more careful about cheeking their superiors!
