I suppose I somewhat cannot blame them for their ignorance. I distinctly remember not learning anything in school wrt money. It wasn't until the final day of high school when we finally learned something about balancing a checkbook, but everyone was already mentally checked out and eagerly waiting for the final bell to leave.
