The Israel from scripture refers to a family.

Not a place. Not a people or nation.

And the words Jew, Judaism, Judea all came from the Romans.

Judea was the name created by the Romans when they conquered what's now known as the West bank.

The Jews from Poland and Ukraine etc. have absolutely no connection to the holy land, their ancestors were a mixed group of Turks and slavs that converted for the privilege of being able to land money to Christians.
