I admit I hadn’t been using it anymore, but then a few blog posts and videos popped up, and cloudfodder created the Nostr IRC chat. Perfect storm to pull me back into IRC :)

I started using it regularly about a year ago. Adam Curry's No Agenda show has had irc setup for 18 years or something like that and some of the shows that branched off from it also have channels there.

It's really cool for live shows or just hanging out.

Sounds cool. I'll have a look. I remember joining music communities and downloading "bootleg" recordings in specialised channels before Napster was even a thing. Also some bots in the 90's and early 2000's doing stuff that LLM enabled bots on Discord still struggle with today. IRC is really amazing.

this is the main one for the No Agenda show

https://noagenda.stream/#/livestream or irc.zeronode.net

nostr:npub1yvscx9vrmpcmwcmydrm8lauqdpngum4ne8xmkgc2d4rcaxrx7tkswdwzdu at BowlAfterBowl even has a itc-nostr bot for the livestreams so out IRC and the Nostr chat see each other across all kinds of apps and protocols.
