Self hosted email is something I've been interested in for a while.

But seems like some uphill learning to pull it off.

I was a fan of Proton for a while but then there were honeypot conerns and such. And I don't have the technical ability to audit their code.

If someone is running a home server is there an easy beginning to self hosted email?

You can’t host it in a residential home because it gets flagged as spam then, and residential IPs usually change. But a cheap VPS can forward it to your house if you want.
