"the rest earn literal less than a penny for a whole stream" - you should take a look at the "pool and beach" category on Twitch. Or "just chatting". That stuff isn't even "content" and shouldn't be on a site with teenagers looking for gaming.
The new trend in what people see as "content" on regular streaming sites is why I've dropped all of them for zap.stream.

Apparently there is guys out there with too much fiat money and with a lot of time on their hands. They hang out on Twitch and TickTock throwing piles of money at the inflatable pool girls.
At least Pink is wearing clothes and she really branded "NPC streaming". At one point she was making an estimated $5k/day. I can actually respect that.
