Don't think so. Reply is just a note which has a reference to original event ID with "reply" marker and there's nothing in the protocol that can prevent an event from being mentioned in another event 🤷‍♀️

But clients can choose not to show certain notes/replies.

As I am not a dev, don't know how sats part and not showing notes can be combined ,😅
