It's kind of wild that humans cut down NEARLY ALL of the old growth trees in a period of only about 150 years or so before somebody stopped and thought 'maybe we should not cut all of these down.'

My mind was blown when I found out this is the only reason the east coast doesn't have any of the monster trees that the west coast has.
It was literally every single tree. They simply have not had time to get that big again yet.
