Yeah, impossible to get us to give up our bitcoin and they can't force it from us. They could try with a wealth tax. In UK I was really worried Starmer government was going to introduce in recent budget. Luckily they only increased CGT from 20% to 24%. But the trend is heading towards that direction. Europe is similar no doubt.

I don’t own Bitcoin, lost it all in a boating accident

I don't think thay can do much physically to our stack or avoiding p2p but they can make bitcoiners lifes in their states very uncomfortable, like they did in Covid period with who was asking question and not following the narrative.

But, we'll win..

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. My heart 🧡 goes out to you. 🙊

They increased the basic band of CGT from 10% to 18% too. That’s going to capture a lot of people. And before that, the yearly CGT allowance has fallen from £12,300 (22/23) to £3,000 now. That’s a cynical Gov play IMO and a way to round up those who dabbled in asset investment or small side gigs especially during those lockdowns periods etc.

Its terrible jamw, affects smaller players, people with not so much money. How much tax will they increase by doing this? Insignificant. So cruel 😈. People are stretched thin with inflation and everything else. 👀

Totally.

They also seem to forget that if the small plebs make a bit of cash, many will spend more thereby boosting the economy and tax revenue (VAT etc).
