In order to appear on wavlake's platform you must host your content on their servers, use their custodial wallet services and agree to their terms of service.

The alternative would be to host an rss feed and music files on literally any server, use any lightning address or lightning node of your choice, and agree to no terms if you want actual "freedom" in terms of music hosting.

I discovered a few weeks ago that I can connect my own wallet. I'm never on WavLake anymore, but you definitely don't have to use their wallet.
