Yeah that's a - in my personal opinion - the modernization of tradicional MCM style by adding a flavor of the currently trending minimalism/brutalism. It means they are replacing many of the colorful aspects and warmth of wood widely used in mid century modern by cold and souless materials like steel, aluminun and various shades of grey. I prefer a preserved MCM style.
