Exactly. Exposed that, despite 40+ #meshtastic nodes "online" (LongFast), I don't think any of my messages are getting through...
(...or they're just ignoring the n00b).
Run some traceroutes behind their backs :)
I get no traceroute responses from any node except my own that I'm directly connected to. I'm sure I have a setting wrong somewhere. #meshtastic

Confirm what you meant by "directly connected"?
Maybe reflash firmware? Maybe bump hops setting to 8? Height really helps. Make sure both of your nodes in CLIENT mode for now. Sort Nodes list by hops away, see what kind of signal stats you're getting; notice the Last Heard time. For nodes you see in the nodes list, tap on each nodes' short name icon, check both device and signal metrics logs, tap Max time window button on right, tap and drag the graph left and right to see full history.
Offer food, drink, or sats to first response. :)

I have two handheld devices (on CLIENT_MUTE) that connect directly (i.e., 1 hop) to my third large-antenna'd solar device (on CLIENT) that gets to about 40 nodes--some as far away as 185km.
Only traceroutes that _don't_ return 'no response' are those between my own three devices.
Increased the hop limits from default 3 to 7 but no change; half the devices have no device log data (even on Max).
