Wow. Finally getting a chance to watch #shogun.

Gate 34 and Michael De Luca Productions did such amazing justice to James Clavell’s novel and the 1980 TV miniseries. It was watching the original as a youngster that drew me to become interested in and fall in love with Japanese culture and subsequently sword and knife making and the martial arts. I rarely watch TV but this one was worth a $7.50 one month sub (and immediate cancellation) to a streaming service I otherwise wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole.
